Report of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat
Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam celebrated Makar Sankranti as a part of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) with its paired Institute i.e., Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longoval, Punjab on 02-02-2023 virtually. Nodal officers Prof. A. Sreedevi, Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, and Dr. Asim Khan Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longoval, Punjab organized an interactive session.
Programme was initiated by the introduction of paired institute students, from each Institute 4 students were given awareness of festivals celebrated in their states. SPMVV students highlighted the Bogi, Makar Sankranti, and kanuka festivals. Which celebrates January 14,15 and 16 of every year. Longoval students explained about Lodhi, Makar Sankranti, and Vasanth Panchami festivals. Both the Institute students explained how they’re celebrated, the importance of Rangoli, and why their festivals are celebrated. What are the special types of recipes they will make, what is the significance of those recipes and how healthy they are, etc.,
All the students are actively involved in the interactive session and shared their views. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. A. Sreedevi.

Institute has organized a Theme Lunch on Fusion of Himachali and Kerala Cuisine under “Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat” in the month of February 2023.
In the said activity, students of the Institute participated in the Theme Lunch on Fusion of Himachali and Kerala Cuisine. This activity was organized to spread knowledge about cuisine and food of the paired state Kerala which increased the knowledge about the paired state Kerala.
In this activity the top management of nearby five star hotels was also present. The Executive Chef, F&B Manager and F&B Manager of Oberoi appreciated the event, food and initiative to bring the two cuisines (Kerala & Himachali cuisines) together.
Students of the Institute had explained “Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat” aspect precisely Theme Lunch on Fusion of Himachali and Kerala Cuisine and given the message that we are a country of diversity fulfilling the aim of “Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat”

: Rajasthan has always been a colourful state, and Bani Thani was a widely loved singer and poet in Kishangarh. A group of Rajasthani paintings were dedicated to her and Raja Samant Singh, who abdicated his throne to retire to a comfortable life. This school of paintings would replace Radha and Krishna with the King and Bani Thani .These have always reflected in the various styles of paintings that have originated from the state
Mandana paintings are wall and floor paintings of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, India. Mandana are drawn to protect home and hearth, welcome gods into the house and as a mark of celebrations on festive occasions.
The Migration students of JNV Jhalawar, Rajasthan painted the school compound wall depicting Bani Thani and Mandana art .

A short video series of sessions of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat has been uploaded on the DIKSHA Platform and YouTube channel and their links have been shared with the students, teachers and parents via different social media platforms.
These videos of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat program include a session on different themes which are aligned with EBSB vision and also connected to the paired state of Chhattisgarh.

⮚ Session 2: February 11th, 2023:: The second session of this month was focused on providing information about the episode aired by Doordarshan Chhattisgarh, in this episode provided knowledge and information about the Information on dress, ornaments, costumes, jewellery, handicrafts etc of Gujarat and Chhattisgarh state in the Chhattisgarhi language.
⮚ Session 3: February 25th, 2023:: The third session of this month was focused on providing information about the episode aired by Doordarshan Chhattisgarh, in this episode provides knowledge and information about the Trade relations of Chhattisgarh and Gujarat in Chhattisgarhi language.

Martyrs' Day, also known as Shaheed Diwas, was observed on 30th January in memory of Gandhiji's sacrifice and to pay homage to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation's independence. Smt. Mary Thomas,PGT Maths enlightened students on the need to pay homage to the unsung heroes of our nation and the freedom fighters who laid their lives for independent, sovereign and liberal India.The staff and students paid a floral tribute to Gandhi. It was followed by the rendering of “Vaishnao jan thothe….” and “ Raghupathi ragahava rajaram….” by the School choir.

Makar Sankranti, also referred to as ‘Uttarayana’ or ‘Makar’, is celebrated by several states of India around mid-January. Tamil Nadu celebrates as ‘Pongal’, Punjab celebrates as ‘Lohri’, Kerala celebrates as ‘Makara Vilakku’ at this time and other states celebrate the festival as the harvest festival representing India rich in diverse traditions, customs and practices.
The EBSB club CMRIT Bangalore has also celebrated the festival ‘Makar Sankranti’ with the paired state ‘BTKIT Dwarahat, Uttarakhand’. The coordinators of the club have presented different forms of the festival being celebrated in different states along with their traditions and customs.
