Kala Utsav aims at nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage in the country. District/State/National Level Utsav is structured as an art festival which includes performances and display of exhibits, which play a major role in creating awareness of India’s rich cultural heritage and its vibrant diversity in line with ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. Our school hosted the Cluster Level Kala Utsav -2022 wherein 17 schools participated in 20 different cultural competitions. Students were trained for Kala Utsav-2022 in various categories- Classical Music, Classical Dance, Musical Instrument, Folk Song, Folk Dance, Drama (Solo Act), Painting, Sculpture Making and Indigenous Toy Making. One of our students, Mast.Sree Vishnu Vardhan ( XII) got selected at the National Level Kala Utsav in Instrumental Music ( Percussion). At the Regional Level Kala Utsav-2022, Mast. Vivek(XII) was selected for Drama (Solo Act). Mast. Agnivesh for Classical Instrument ( Melodic), Mast.Abhiram (X) for Traditional Folk Song and Mast.Shreyas (X) for Traditional Folk Dance . The Valedictory function of the Cluster Level kala Utsav was presided over by the District Collector of Palakkad, Ms.Mrunmayi Joshi.

"1. As per directions of Sainik Schools Society regarding action plan for EBSB Calendar 2022, the school has organized following activities:- (a) Cultural Competition - Folk Dance of Partner State Odisha. As a part the campaign 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat', Cultural Competition - Folk dance of partner state of Odisha was organized in school auditorium on 28 Sep 2022. The group of 60 boys and 20 girls of different classes performed various dances. Laudi Khela, also known as Gauda Nacha is a form of dance practiced in some coastal districts of Odisha. Traditionally the performers are young boys of the 'Gauda' or 'Gopal' (Yadav) castes. This dance is performed during Dola Purnima (Holi). The dance is dedicated to Krishna and his consort Radha.(b) 30 Mins Instrumental Music Playing of Folk/Traditional Song of Partner State- Odisha. As a part the campaign 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat', 30 mins instrumental music playing of folk/traditional song of partner state Odisha” was done by School Band on 18 Sep 2022. Band team of 12 cadets comprise of different classes of Sainik School Satara performed it under the supervision of Band Master and incharge in school quadrangle. The songs played by them are: (i) Bande Utkal Janani Bande Utkal Janani Charuhasyamayee Charuvasyamayee Janani Janani Janani .... (ii) Aeedesaaeemati Mamatamayeemati Sebare Tara jibanadeba Rakhiba Tara na ti."

In order to promote a sustained and structured cultural connect between people of different States in India, three events were conducted as per of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat campaign. Event 1 - Group Song: Group Song on patriotic theme of partner state, Andhra Pradesh State in Telugu language was sung by the cadets of SS Rewari in the School assembly on 17 Sep 2022. Cadet Shashi Shekhar alogwith cadets of his class sung Vinera-Vinera patriotic song. Col S Dhar, Principal Sainik School Rewari also briefed cadets about the campaign Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat. 482 cadets were present in this event. Event 2 - Instrumental Music: An Instrumental song was played by Cadet Tarun Nair Class VII B. He also played the tunes of a patriotic song of Andhra Pradesh on violin in School Assembly. 482 cadets, staff and officers were present in this event. Principal Sainik School Rewari appreciated the talent of Cadet Tarun Nair. Event 3 - Drawing Competition: A drawing cum painting competition was conducted in School on 17 Sep 2022. Cadets of Class VIII B participated in this event. They made paintings on the Art, Culture, Dance, Music, Buildings, Food, and History etc. of Andhra State (Partner State). Total 31 cadets participated in this event.

"1. Introduction. India is the nation which defines the term Unity in Diversity. The term Unity in diversity refers to the togetherness in-spite of presence of immense different beliefs. Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) is an important annual plan to promote National Integrity among the cadets at national level by imparting cultural sensitivity. Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) program is an important means of imparting cultural awareness and training to the Cadets at National level and therefore, there is a requirement to conduct online EBSB programme, between the paired / partner Schools on reciprocal basis, to promote knowledge about each others states. Letter No. SSBJ/237/EBSB/Trg.SSA is doing collaborating activities of EBSB with Sainik School Punglwa (Nagaland)and Sainik School Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh). The aim of this scheme is to boost unity in India through the existing cultural connections among various parts of the country. It also aims to improve interaction between Indian people who are living at different places all through the country. This initiative will connect people to people which will really enhance unity in India. 2. Activites To enhance the proper understanding and bonding among cadets as well as strengthen the unity and integrity in India, SSA conducted Folk Dance Competition on 17 Sep 2022 under the theme of Cultural Exchange and acquaintance of Information with the partner state Nagaland. It was an influencing way to make the cadets know about the culture, traditions and practices of Nagaland. All the cadets participated in the activity with full enthusiasm and showcased their dancing skills elegantly. Art & Painting Competition was organised on 19 Sep 2022 on the theme Cultural heritage and regional values of the partner state (Nagaland). All the cadets of sainik school amethi showcased their noteworthy creativity. All the cadets were influenced and motivated to appreciate the cultural and linguistic diversities as India represents Unity in Diversity."

"1. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) is an important annual plan to promote National Integrity amongst the cadets at national level by imparting cultural sensitivity. Therefore, the scheduled activity of September month was conducted along with paired schools, i.e. Sainik School Jhansi and Amethi. 2. Teachers who were detailed for the activity of all the three schools discussed the various methods and strategies to carry out the activity successfully. A Whatsapp group was created for the same purpose in which innovative ideas were shared by participating teachers. 3. A Google Meet Session was organized by the teachers that was joined by the cadets of paired schools subsequently. The teachers and cadets had a marvelous online session where cadets of all three school acquainted with the life style and culture of the paired school. 4. Class wise Cultural Competition (Folk Dance/Songs) of Partner State Uttar Pradesh was held from 16 to 17 Sep 22. 124 Cadets enthusiastically participated in the competition. 5. All the cadets were influenced and motivated to appreciate the Music, Dance and Songs of our paired state diversities as India represents ˜Unity in Diversity."

The presentation started with the discussion and making the students aware about the concept and background of EBSB programme, followed by the presentation on the understanding and discussion about what is homestay. An interactive session was held between the students and us in making them aware about the homestay culture in Gujarat and Chhattisgarh, the role of government in promoting these policies, the advantages of these policies as an initiative towards entrepreneurship and revenue generation. 2. Various Posters on Homestay policies were displayed on the students notice board and in the hostel to make them aware about this culture. 3. Videos related with homestay culture and some famous homestays available in Gujarat and Chhattisgarh were also shown to the students in the class.
