Each & every aspect of the festival was taken into consideration. They introduced Bhogi Panduga, Pedda Panduga & Kanuma Panduga celebrations in Odisha. They also showed Bhogi, Sankrant & Kinkrant celebrations in Maharashtra.

On 25th January, 2023 students put their Food Stalls and served different flavours by preparing the famous regional cuisines of both paired states. Stalls comprise of foods prepared in homes by students themselves. Participants were in traditional costumes. Some students were also performed traditional dances “Tarpa” and “Bhangra” of both paired states.

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) initiative aims at promoting engagement amongst the people of States/ UTs in the country for furthering mutual understanding and bonding between people of diverse cultures. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) initiative aims at promoting engagement among the people of States/ UTs in the country for further mutual understanding and bonding between people of diverse cultures. Celebration of festivals of the paired state is an important activity under EBSB. As Assam is paired with Rajasthan, thus IIITG celebrated Makar Sankranti by organising various events such as Kite Flying, Rangoli Making, Singing songs on Makar Sankranti etc on 15 January 2023 from 10 AM onwards. Students in large numbers participated in this event. Kite Flying on the IIITG campus was the main attraction besides Rangoli making. More than 100 students participated in the kite flying event for more than two hours. A few faculties also joined the students in flying the kites. Rangoli making theme was 'Makar Sankranti'. The use of yellow and vibrant colours by the students created an amazing rangoli in front of the institute. The fine arts club under IIITG Cultural Board executed the rangoli. The Music Club conducted a 40 mins musical event. The students sang the folk songs of Rajasthan those sung during the Makar Sankranti. Other students from Rajasthan also sang along with the Musical team. The Makar Sankranti event concluded by distributing traditional sweets and food items ate during Makar Sankranti in Rajasthan such as Til Ladoo, Chikki, Puffed Rice etc. The event conveyed a message of cultural diversity and unity under the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat scheme promoted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

On 14th January, 2023 NITIE EBSB Cultural Committee organised the Lohri Celebration, the first festival on campus . Students on campus celebrated the holy occasion, which marks the confluence of various Indian harvest festivals like Bihu, Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Maghi, Pongal, Poush Sankranti, Uttarayan. The celebration was graced by the warm presence of the Director sir, all Deans, the Chief Warden, Cultural PICs and wardens, along with other members of the faculty and their families. It was an enjoyable evening that brought fun-filled moments for all as they danced heartily to Dhol beats while leaving their worries in the pious Lohri bonfire.
