Rain Water Harvesting Campaign
There are several ways for recharging the ground water. Particularly harvesting the rain water, the natural source is remarkable in water storage. In recent days due to Global warming the season for rain fall is changing and we are in the stage of storing water by different ways. The rural public is totally unaware about the water storage systems. It is mandatory that the rural people must be given awareness on water storage and its scheme. Nearby villages Namagiripettai, Thoppappatty, Andagalur Gate, Gurusamypalayam, R.Pudhupatty, R.Pattanam, Belukkurichi R.Pudhupalayam, Kattanatchampatty, Singalanthapuram & Bodinaickenpatti were selected for Campaigning under NSS, Humanitorian Club and Environmental Club of our institute and is executed with the support of our students and faculty members Outcomes: People are given awareness on how the soil erosion and flood hazards are controlled by collecting and reducing the flow of rainwater to prevent flooding. The importance of collecting rain water from rooftop of buildings which has a capacity of collecting large volumes of water in case of rainstorms was explained |
