The 73rd Republic day was celebrated at Maharaja Bijli Pasi Government PG College,Lucknow following the covid protocol. The NCC cadets escorted the Principal .The tricolor was unfurled by the Principal Prof.Dr Suman Gupta and the message of Director Higher Education Uttar Pradesh was read by Dr Deepti Sonkar on the occasion. The national Anthem was sung by the members of the staff present and the program ended after the solemn ceremony due to the compelling circumstances of Covid 19.

Republic Day Celebration The 73rd Republic Day celebration unfurled with the hoisting of flag by the Principal, Smt.Pramela. The anchoring by Shri. Sivadasan and speech by students Kum.Abhila, Kum.Afnida and Kum.Agneya incorporated all the three languages as envisaged in the Ek Bharath Shresht Bharat regarding the conduct of program. Smt. Mary Thomas ( PGT Maths) and students spoke on the importance of constitution, the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters, the spirit of patriotism , the need to take responsibility and love for nation. An Interhouse Skit Competition was organized on the theme,” Indian National Movement” with Aravalli House (The trial of Bhagat Singh) emerging as Winners. The Second position was backed by Nilgiri House ( Veerangane Velu Nachiyaar-Shivaganga). The Third place was backed by Shiwalik House( Vir Savarkar at Cellular Jail) and Udaigiri House (Jallianwala Bagh Massacre) respectively.

A Webinar was organized by the EBSB Club of Maharaja Bijli Pasi Government P.G. College,Lucknow on the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Diwas on 24th January 2022 via the online platform.The Programme was convened by Dr Sanobar Haider-Assistant Professor ,Department of History and Nodal Officer of the EBSB Club of the College . The session began with the welcome address of the Principal Prof.Dr Suman Gupta who welcomed the Chief Guest /Keynote Speaker, Mr Sanjay Bhoosreddy ,IAS Uttar Pradesh cadre. Dr Haider introduced the theme of the webinar and the Chief Guest to all the participants of the session. Mr Bhoosreddy very explicitly talked about how Uttar Pradesh came into being reflecting upon the history and culture of the state.He spoke about how and why U.P. evolved from being the United Provinces to Uttar Pradesh. He then talked about the geographical diversity,cultural multiplicity,the different dialects and the Ganga Jamuni tahzeeb of the state.He through a power point presentation enlisted the ODOP programme of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and how we can contribute towards enriching our legendary state. Towards the end a question answer session was held and the students asked several questions related to U.P.Diwas. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Sanobar Haider.
