Students dressed themselves as Radha ,Krishna and Gopikas which added a traditional touch to entire celebrations. The children danced to the beat of Janmashtami songs, performed skit, gave a speech on the importance of Janmashtami and played “ Dahi Handi”

In this essay writing competition, 15 students participated, which include students from the arts and science stream from both the Higher Secondary and Degree sections. The essays were evaluated by Dr. J.S. Dkhar, Assistant Professor, M.I.L (Hindi), Lady Keane College, Shillong who adjudge the following students as the three winners of the competition: 1st Prize Winner: Ms. Santana Gogoi 2nd Prize Winner: Ms. Simran Barbhuiya 3rd Prize Winner: Suhana Nongrum All the winners were awarded cash prizes along with a certificate. As already decided the 1st prize winning essay will be digitalized and share with the paired institution from Uttar Pradesh as a knowledge sharing initiative of the committee in moving towards the goal of achieving a “One India - Strong India”.

Under the EBSB programme, cadets of grade XII participated in the ˜Literary fest" and grade VII in the ˜Letter writing activity. In the Literary fest, which was organized on 25 Aug 22 cadets delivered speech and recited poem on our partner state, Assam. In the speech delivered by cadets, they glorified the ˜Amazon of the East" highlighting its beauty and importance, emphasized on the pivotal role of tea estates and silk industry in the growth of the state, and appreciated the culture and traditions of Assam. The cadets also recited poems appreciating the magnificence of Assam and about the plight of Assamese when many areas are deeply affected by flooding from the Brahmaputra and other riversduring the monsoon.The Letter writing activity was conducted on 17 Aug 22 wherein cadets of grades VI-IX participated. Before the activity, language teachers in their respective classes gave a brief introduction of Assam. The cadets wrote letters to their parents in English and Hindi language disseminating knowledge about the ˜Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat" programme and about the location, history, important tourist places, festivals, staple diet etc. of Assam.

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat EBSB program is an important means of imparting cultural awareness and training to the students at national level an active participation of partner schools on reciprocal basis, helps promote knowledge about each other states in a comprehensive manner. Keeping the theme of Literacy Fest to explore and know more and more about great and Incredible India. On 16th August 2022 under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) program Sainik School Bijapur organised the scheduled activity for the month of August that is Quiz Competition Partner State Uttarakhand. After completion of the above program a Letter Writing exercise by Junior Cadets (class VI to IX) to their Parents in English/Hindi /Regional Language, expressing knowledge about Partner State Uttarakhand conducted. A total of 624 cadets took part in this activity and enlightened about the ethnic cuisine of the Uttarakhand state.

75 years of Indian Independence was celebrated with great pomp and show on 15.08.2022 . A week long programme and celebrations marked the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav . The flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest , Shri.Mahendran, a Retired Kargil War Veteran which was followed by the welcome address by Smt.Prameela, Principal of JNV Palakkad , wherein a glowing tribute was paid to the freedom fighters and also need to rise to the occasion by shouldering responsibilities. Speech in English, Hindi and Malayalam were delivered by the students Mast.Narayanan, Kum.Pavithra and Kum.Akshaya. The address was given by Shri.R Chakyar,TGT Malayalam stressing on the need to enliven the dreams of the freedom fighters . In his Presidential Address, the Chief Guest Shri.Mahendran enumerated his experiences as a soldier in Kargil War and the supreme sacrifices made by the defence personnel in defending the nation. The cultural session unfolded patriotic songs, dance ,skit, yoga display and national integration song by students.
