This song was first sung at the Utkal Sammilani's Conference at Balasore in 1912, This song was used as a weapon by the Utkal Sammilani to emancipate Odisha. In a meeting at Bhadrak, where the poet Mohapatra was felicitated, the then young leader of Odisha Harekrushna Mahtab admitted that the poet Laxmikanta's patriotic songs have inspired him a lot.

NITIE EBSB student team successfully conducted the 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat' orientation of junior batches of 2021. We shared the message of integrating cultural exchange and values amidst budding techno-managers. We invited them to connect with the cause of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat through the area of their specialisations and translate technical content in their regional languages for social development. The MS TEAM survey form was floated to receive various integration ideas from them. Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director, NITIE conveyed his good wishes and suggested that students participate actively in the work of cultural integration & collaboration and achieve success in personal & professional life. Prof. Hema Date, Dean of Student Affairs shared her views with the students and motivated them to participate in the EBSB events. Further, EBSB pledges were read in various languages: Hindi-Prof. Vidyadhar Gedam, English-Mr Rishabh Verma, Odia-Mr Bikash Kumar Manjhi, and Marathi-Mr Dadaso Watharkar. The programme was attended by more than 400 students. The program was moderated by Prof. Nikhil K. Mehta, Coordinator -EBSB.

In October 1999, a super cyclone of massive proportions ripped through the entire Odisha coast snuffing away over 10,000 lives while rendering millions homeless. The 1999 cyclone remains etched in our memories as an apocalyptic failure of the administration as the mighty winds wreaked havoc exposing the extreme vulnerability of people to the whims of nature. In April 2018, Odisha became the first Indian state to have an early warning system in place for natural disasters such as cyclones and tsunami for people living along its 480 km-long coasts

As part of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat activities, India Tourism Mumbai organised a virtual AV presentation on Maharashtra & Odisha on 30.06.2021 for the Travel and Tourism students of Garware Institute of Career Technology, Mumbai. The multimedia presentation on Maharashtra & Odisha is designed to introduce Travel & Tourism students in Maharashtra to the Culture, History, Geography, Monuments, Temples, dance forms , tourist attractions, Handicraft and cuisine of Odisha which is the 'paired state' with Maharashtra under EBSB initiative. The students were briefed on the concept of EBSB and also on the paired States. 30 Students attended the presentation.
