Continuing the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat streak of events,aguest lecture on Sikkim Tourism was organized by the Institute, on 22nd December,2023.
The guest speaker was Anurag Asthana, Manager - Sikkim, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.The event took place on the CiscoWebex platform where more than 96 students attended the lecture.Increasing cultural and religious knowledge about Sikkim, and promoting it as an emerging tourism destination was the primary objective of the session.Mr. Anurag engaged the students with a hopeful session, stating everything about the state, its main attractions, the culinary habits of the people, and many other factors. The guest lecture concluded with a Q/A session where the students were given the opportunity to ask their topic related doubts from the speaker.The activity invited healthy participation from the faculty and student body.

IHM Shillong organized an activity on Essay writing competition in the local language on the theme “CULTURE OF UTTAR PRADESH & MEGHALAYA” and the students of 1st Semester of 1 ½ Year Craftsmanship Certificate Course In Food Production & Patisseries participated in the activity in IHM Campus.
The students have shown keen interest to make this activity successful on 05.12.2023.
All students were awarded with participation certification.

Under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Celebration activities were conducted where in Folk song from Sikkim and Nepal region were sung by the College student Band for the staff and faculty members at an event organized to celebrate Diwali.
The gathering was explained about the essence of the festivities and meaning of the lyrics. The attendees thoroughly enjoyed the folk songs and felt same as the community of the sister/paired state ‘SIKKIM.’

As a part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) program, the members of EBSB group have conducted a quiz in order to create awareness on Nepali language which is the most spoken language in Sikkim on 10thOctober 2023 in the institute for the students.
This was an offline event conducted within the college premises.The students were awarded with certificates. The activity enjoyed healthy participation from the student of various courses.
The winners were
Abhishek Jaiswal 1st yr Bsc hha 1st -14 marks
Etee Pathya 1st yr Bsc hha 2nd -13 marks
Sneha 1st yr Bsc hha 3rd-12 marks
Language is undoubtedly a crucial medium to communicate. Sikkim being a multi-lingual state, people of many communities reside here harmoniously. Nepali can be is the most spoken language in Sikkim. Though Hindi, the official language of India, is also spoken at many places in the state. Besides these languages, there are numerous local dialects in Sikkim like Tibetan, Bhutia and Lepcha language are significant.
This gave an insight to the students about the Nepali Language

On 29th Sep 2023, an online open quiz on Gujarat and Chhattisgarh was conducted among the IHM Ahmedabad and SIHM Raipur to guide them to learn a few interesting facts about our paired state, Chhattisgarh. For this, a google form link describing the culture and unique features of various places of Gujarat and Chhattisgarh was shared in the whatsapp groups of staff of institutes of both States. There was active participation in the quiz and their feedback revealed that it helped them to learn some important facts about both the paired states.
