IDY 2023 was celebrated across the world, on the 21st of June 2023. With an intention to highlight the importance and contribution of Yoga in serving the humanity all over the world, and in mitigating the people’s sufferings during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the post-COVID period, ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ was announced as the theme for IDY 2023. As IDY 2023 coincided with the celebration of India’s G20 Presidency this year, the celebration was amplified by several events of the G20 Presidency. The National celebration of 9th International Day of Yoga 2023 was led by Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar on 21st June at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. This year the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi led Yoga from the North Lawns at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA where more than 135 countries joined to show their commitment towards yoga. The preparation of IDY 2023 had started on 13th March 2023, with 100 days countdown launched by Hon’ble Minister of Ayush. Since then, every day countdown is being observed by all stakeholders including government bodies, making it a mass movement, culminating on 21st June 2023.

Naturopathy Day is observed every year since 2018 in India on 18th November, the day on which Mahatma Gandhi became a Life Member of the Nature Cure Foundation Trust and signed the deed. The main event was organized at National Institute of Naturopathy in Pune. This year’s Naturopathy day was celebrated with the theme, Naturopathy: An Integrative Medicine, thus spreading the message of patient-oriented approach of treatment with Naturopathy across the country.

Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India has declared 18th November to be observed as Naturopathy day every year from 2018, to signify its promise in empowering people through health, which is the vision of the document registered as All India Nature Cure Foundation Trust on 18th November 1945, being the day on which Mahatma Gandhi became life time Chairman of the All India Nature Cure foundation Trust and signed the deed. Fifth Naturopathy day was observed in India on November 18th 2022.

Since 2016, Ayurveda Day has been celebrated every year on the occasion of Dhanwantari Jayanti (Dhanteras) to promote, propagate and sensitize the public towards the ancient science of Ayurveda. The National Implementation Committee meeting was held on 29th August 2022 which was chaired by Honorable Home Minister, wherein it was decided that the events to be conducted for celebration of “AzadiKaAmritMahotsav” inter-alia “Ayurveda @2047” to be celebrated by Ministry of Ayush. Accordingly,Ministry of Ayush has decided to organize a series of events to commemorate “Ayurveda @ 2047” from 12th September 2022 to 23rd October 2022 to celebrate the 7th Ayurveda Day on the occasion of Dhanteras on 23rd October 2022.

IDY 2022 was celebrated with great enthusiasm, at Mysuru Palace, on 21st June 2022. The event was led by the Hon’ble PM, and attended by the Governor of Karnataka, Union Minister of Ayush, CM of Karnataka, Health Minister of Karnataka, Maharaja of Mysuru, and other dignitaries. More than 15,000 people joined the 45-minute CYP session led by the PM. The programme began with Nada Geet, followed by a Welcome Speech by the Union Minister of Ayush. The CM of Karnataka addressed the gathering, followed by the PM. The PM spoke about the importance of ‘Yoga as an Asset for Humanity’. He said that ‘Yoga brings peace to self, then it spreads to the society, and then to all the human beings in the world’ The Ministry of Ayush organized an exhibition at the Dussehra Ground, where 142 stalls consisting of both, Static and Digital Exhibits, were put up by 87 Yoga & Ayush institutions. The exhibits focussed on illustrious history and development of Yoga, achievements & research highlights of Yoga, all the previous editions of IDY, CYP, and COVID success stories.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of it's people, culture and achievements. This Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India thus far in its evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The official journey of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commenced on 12th March 2021 which started a 75-week countdown to our 75th anniversary of independence and will end post a year on 15th August 2023. Following are the five themes of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
