: The International Mathribhasha Diwas is observed every year on February 21 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism around the world. The theme of this year is “fostering multilingualism for inclusion in education and society.” and the events held reflected the spirit of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Superior India). The students and parents watched the live online Inaugural session of International Mother Language Day through the web portal. The Language Department prepared a PPT and also spoke at length about the history and importance of Mathribasha in our lives. The 72nd Republic Day celebration unfurled with the hoisting of flag by the principal. The anchoring by Shri. Sivadasan and speech by students incorporated all the three languages as envisaged in the Ek Bharath Shresht Bharat regarding the conduct of programme. The staff and staff wards spoke on the importance of constitution, the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters, the spirit of patriotism , the need to take responsibility and love for nation. An online Fancy Dress depicting the traditional dress of Indian States and national leaders were also conducted keeping the spirit of EBSB alive.

One of our students, Kum. Akhila Ashokan of Class: XII got selected to perform Carnatic Classical Music ( Vocal) at the National Level Competition – Kala Utsav whose main objective is to provide opportunities to understand and celebrate the cultural diversity of paired state at district, state & national level. Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under SSA Scheme to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage in the country.

The Vidyalaya, JNV Palakkad is linked with JNV Jhalawar, Rajasthan for migration .The students of Class: VI – X were shown different sites that depicted the folk dance forms, art and craft, food , fairs and festivals, traditional dresses and indigenous games of Rajasthan by the Social Science Department during one of their online classes. An Online Quiz was also conducted for all classes(VI-XII) to enable our students to understand and appreciate the diversity that is India , thus fostering a sense of common identity and spirit of nation building.

The team members of UT of Daman &Diu were taken on a virtual tour on exploring the French cultural connectivity with Puducherry. Puducherry still mirrors the part of the French culture in its architecture with aligned yellow white creamy pink colour buildings. French culture enhanced the tourism of Pondicherry. White town is meant for Cleanliness and peace whereas Tamil town is meant for joy and celebration.
