Vishu-An important festival celebrated in the state of Kerala marks the beginning of a New Year, new hopes and aspirations. A Vishu Kani was set by the students in their respective Houses under the guidance of their respective House masters . In an informal address, the Principal Smt. Prameela spoke briefly about April 14 and 15 being auspicious and historic days across India for various reasons. It is celebrated as 'Puthandu' in Tamil Nadu, Baisakhi in Punjab, Bihu in Assam, Pana Sankranthi in Odisha and Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra. She also stated that all these were Harvest festivals and how people celebrate their native cultural uniqueness. It was soon followed by a customarily prepared sadhya at noon.

As part of Pace Setting and EBSB activity, On the spot Painting Competition was organised for Senior students in the neighbouring Vidyalaya, GVHSS, Malampuzha on the the topic “ Impact of Corona” to create COVID awareness on 05.04.2021. 16 students participated. The prize distribution ceremony was held organised at JNV Palakkad on 06.04.2021 wherein prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners by the Principal, Smt. Prameela.

The Board Class students residing in the campus were made familiar with various Art forms of India- Kalamkari, Warli, Rajasthani Miniature, Kerala Murals, Gond Art and Cheriyal Painting . They were made to draw the sketches on the school walls and paint it using bright shades . The Art teacher, Shri. Manjunath also briefed the students about the various art forms of India that have been adding colour to our culture.

In Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence ( Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav), the students were made to cherish the memories of Freedom Movement by encouraging them to participate in Quiz and Painting Competition organised by the Govt.of India in the month of April and May 2021. These activities encouraged the students to know about the Freedom Movement, Freedom fighters, Important Events and the Sacrifices of Great Leaders.
