Greetings day
As a part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) program, the members of EBSB group have conducted Greeting day in order to make students familiar with Nepali language which is the most spoken language in Sikkim on 27th September 2023 in the institute for the students. A greetings day was conducted in which we made student familiar with some greetings and words used in Nepali language for which we circulated a document containing some words and sentences used in hospitality industry and their conversion in Nepali language. The students learnt the words and started using it in their day-to-day life. Language is undoubtedly a crucial medium to communicate. Sikkim being a multi-lingual state, people of many communities reside here harmoniously. Nepali can be is the most spoken language in Sikkim. Though Hindi, the official language of India, is also spoken at many places in the state. Besides these languages, there are numerous local dialects in Sikkim like Tibetan, Bhutia and Lepcha language are significant. This gave an insight to the students about the Nepali Language.
